M. Saravanakumar, a distinguished student of our school, recently achieved a remarkable feat by clinching the Gold medal in the prestigious state-level Silambam competition organized by the Education department of the Tamilnadu Government. In recognition of his outstanding achievement, he was graciously invited by the Honourable District Collector of Tirunelveli, Dr. K. P. Karthikeyan I.A.S.

Accompanied by our esteemed Principal, Vice Principal, and Physical Education master, Saravanakumar was honoured to meet the District Collector. During the meeting, Dr. Karthikeyan expressed his admiration for Saravanakumar’s dedication and skill in Silambam, a traditional martial art form of Tamil Nadu. The District Collector extended his heartfelt congratulations and offered best wishes for Saravanakumar’s future endeavors and competitions.

In a distinguished testament to the esteemed educational landscape of Tirunelveli district, Mrs. Usha Raman, our beloved Principal was accorded a singular honour. On the gracious invitation extended by the honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu Mr. R.N.Ravi, a select few luminaries, including Mrs. Usha Raman and the revered Correspondent, Mrs. Nirmal Ramarathinam, convened at the illustrious Rajbhavan in Chennai for the Republic Day High-Tea Party on the evening of January 26.

Amidst the regal ambiance of Rajbhavan, She stood as the sole representative from Tirunelveli’s educational institutions, a testament to her unwavering commitment and exemplary contributions to the field of education. Her presence at such a distinguished gathering underscored not only her individual accomplishments but also the collective strides made by the educational fraternity in nurturing young minds and shaping the future of the region.

A Mathematical Maestro’s Annual Odyssey: Honouring Mr. Christopher Dean’s 30-Year Legacy in Enriching Minds

A venerable tradition unfolds every year in our school since 2009 as Mr. Christopher Dean, a distinguished mathematical scholar and Further Mathematics Tutor at Cambridge Education Group, graces us with his profound wisdom. With an illustrious career spanning three decades at Cambridge University, England, Mr. Dean, now 85, continues to kindle the flame of mathematical curiosity in the hearts of our Higher Secondary students.

His unwavering passion for teaching has become a beacon of inspiration, prompting him to travel to our school annually, where he dedicates three weeks to our students .

This year was no exception as our classrooms became the canvas for his pedagogical artistry. With a masterful touch, Mr. Dean effortlessly navigated through mathematical concepts, leaving an indelible mark on the minds of our fortunate class 11 students.

As we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Christopher Dean, we are not merely expressing appreciation for a teacher but acknowledging the presence of a mathematical maestro who has sculpted the minds of generations.

In honouring Mr. Dean, we also extend our warmest wishes for continued good health and look forward to the prospect of many more years blessed with his illuminating presence in our classrooms.

Our School Emerges Victorious in Junior Super Kings T20 Tournament!

In a remarkable display of talent and teamwork, our school has clinched victory in the Junior Super Kings inter school T20 tournament’s south zone, proudly hosted by the esteemed Chennai Super Kings.

From being a 32-team tournament in Chennai in 2012 to a tournament with more than 100 teams, the growth of Junior Super Kings has been phenomenal. This year teams from outside the state also participated for the first time.

The stellar performances of D.M. Mithun, who secured the coveted Player of the Series title, and S. Harish, named the Best Bowler of the Tournament from the 9th standard, added to the glory. Class 11 student Sri Hari Raj’s 3 wicket haul helped our team defeat The Vikasa, Tuticorin by 7 wickets. Not to be overshadowed, Saravana Sangeeth Rajan of the 11th standard shone brightly, earning the prestigious Player of the Finals accolade.

These outstanding achievements are a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students, as well as the guidance provided by our skilled coach Mr. Rajasekar. As the echoes of celebration reverberate throughout our school, we extend hearty congratulations to our students and the coach for this momentous achievement on the cricket pitch.

Empathy in Action: Extending a Helping Hand to Flood-Affected Communities

In response to the unprecedented rainfall that lashed Tirunelveli and Tuticorin districts on 17/12/23 and 18/12/23, leaving devastation in its wake, our school took swift and compassionate action to alleviate the suffering of those affected under the initiative of our Principal Mrs.Usha Raman.

Our school’s management, dedicated staff, and compassionate students rallied together, embodying the spirit of community service. Starting from 19/12/23, our collective efforts focused on providing essential relief materials such as blankets, clothing, rice bags, biscuits, mats, groceries, candles and vegetables to those in need.

Notably, our school distributed 200 packets of relief materials to the flood-affected areas in Vannarpet, Tirunelveli, where our students and staff displayed commendable teamwork in executing this mission. Simultaneously, another team from our school interact club with our staff Mr. Vanchinathan ventured into areas near Eral, ensuring that essential items reached the doorsteps of the affected families.

A special mention goes to our staff member, Rani Madam, and our former student, Sathya, along with their colony members, who took up the responsibility of distributing relief materials in and around CN Village in the Tirunelveli Junction area which is one of the badly affected area by flood.

We are proud of our students and staff for their exemplary efforts in this time of crisis. This initiative reflects our school’s core values of empathy, community service, and the unwavering belief that together, we can make a difference.

A Decade of Awesome Teaching: Mr. William Winfield’s Special Connection with Our School

For more than a decade, Mr. William Winfield has been making a remarkable journey from London to our school . Starting as the Head of Modern Languages and later becoming the Headmaster at Mill Hill School, London, he continued his connection with our school even after retiring.

Since 2010, Mr. Winfield has been visiting us every year, bringing his expertise to our students in English Prose and Poetry. This year, he continued the tradition, conducting classes for our Class 11 students.

Mr. Winfield’s classes are not just about learning; they’re an exciting experience. He brings so much energy and life to the class.

His enthusiasm and engaging teaching style make his annual visit something our students eagerly await.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. William Winfield for his dedication to teaching and for crossing continents to share his knowledge with our students in India. We eagerly look forward to his next visit, grateful for the global connection he brings to our school.

Checkmate Champions

In a recent chess tournament organized by the Tirunelveli City Chess Association, students from Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, and Sankarankoil Educational Districts showcased their strategic skills. Bala Subramanian, a Class 11 student, emerged victorious, claiming the first-place trophy. Adding to the glory, Vinosh from Class 9 and Viswa from Class 5 secured second place, elevating the school’s reputation. The triumphant trio was celebrated during a special recognition in the school assembly, where their achievements echoed with pride.

Kiddival Chronicles: A Tale of Talent, Triumph, and Teamwork

We are elated to announce our remarkable success at Kiddival, the highly anticipated interschool competition organized by RMKV Silks, Rotary Club of Tirunelveli West and Rotary Club of Tirunelveli, Venuvanam. This Kids Festival, catering to students from Kindergarten to Class 5, showcased the exceptional talents of our young participants.

In a triumphant display, our school secured the prestigious title of Overall Second Runner-Up Championship. Applauding the outstanding achievements of our little stars, we extend heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated staff whose guidance played a pivotal role in this accomplishment.

Our students shone brightly, clinching top honours in a myriad of events. The list of accolades includes 1st prizes in categories such as Fancy Dress, Vocal Solo Classical, Instrumental Solo Classical, Group Dance, Clay Modelling, Art from Waste, and Word Power. Additionally, our talented youngsters secured the 2nd prize in KG Colouring.

The excellence didn’t stop there, as our students claimed 3rd prizes in Solo Classical Dance, Pot Painting, Vocal Non-Classical, and Quiz categories. Adding to the glory, our participants showcased their skills in 4th prize-winning categories like English Handwriting, Instrumental Solo Non-Classical, and Tamil Elocution.

Exceptional Success at SNUC QuBiz: Our Students Triumph in Regional Competitions

In a remarkable display of talent and intelligence, students from our school have achieved outstanding success in the recent SNUC QuBiz competition. This prestigious event, organized by the Shiv Nadar University of Chennai, was conducted in Tirunelveli on October 31 and in Tuticorin on November 1.

Srivatsan of class 11 teamed up with the Madhuvarshini from class 12, secured the third position in the fiercely contested competition held in Tirunelveli.

Not to be outdone, Nithish Anand and Balakrishnan, two promising students from class 9, secured a remarkable second place in the competition held in Tuticorin. Their performance was nothing short of exceptional, and they have proven that age is no barrier to success.

Both of our winning teams are now gearing up for the next level of the competition in Chennai, where they will represent our school and showcase their abilities on a broader platform. We extend our hearty congratulations to these talented students for their outstanding achievements. Our Students Shine at District Science Congress: Heading to State Level

31st National Children’s Child Congress 2023, A program of National Council for Science & Technology Communication ( NCSTC) is conducted all over India with the Focal theme of “Understanding Eco System for Health and Well being”.

Two teams from our school, one representing the junior category and the other the senior category, made a remarkable impact at the District Science Congress.

In the junior category, Sri Loshini and Shree Sharadha of class 8 presented a compelling thesis on the ‘PROS AND CONS OF MODERN TECHNOLOGY IN STUDENT COMMUNITY.’ Meanwhile, in the senior category, Bettina Prabhakar and Vishal of class 11 showcased their innovative ‘GARBAGE DISPOSAL AND TRACKING SYSTEM IN TIRUNELVELI.’

With their well-prepared written submissions, engaging PowerPoint presentations, and impressive responses during the viva session, both teams secured their spots to compete at the State level Science Congress. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and their supportive guide teachers.
